21 weeks

21 weeks, 5 days

How far along?  21 weeks!

Maternity clothes?  Definitely

Stretch marks?  No

Sleep?  This week, I haven’t slept as well at night because my back hurts and my belly has been pulling on my sides.  Luckily, I’ve been free to take lots of naps!

Miss Anything?  Being able to ask my mom questions about pregnancy.

Movement?  Yes 🙂  This week, our little girl has been kicking so hard that her daddy has been able to SEE my abdomen move!  So neat.

Food cravings?  Does Dr. Pepper count as food?  If so, my answer is Dr. Pepper.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  On Wednesday, I worked myself up pretty badly thinking about my mom, and I didn’t feel so great after that.

Best moment this week?  The whole Church here in Murfreesboro/Nashville surrounded us when we got back to Tennessee.  We got home to a clean house, a full refrigerator/freezer/pantry, and even some presents for Baby Striclyn!  Everyone came over to meet at our house on Thursday and it was great to be able to worship together.

Worst moment of the week?  Wednesday morning.

Have you started to show yet?  Haha, yes.  This week when we took the weekly picture, I looked back at week nineteen and asked, “When did I get so pregnant?!”

Gender prediction?  Still girl.

Labor Signs?  No

Belly Button in or out?  In

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Happy or Moody most of the time?  It’s been a pretty busy week, all of the distractions keep me mostly happy.

Looking forward to?   Going back to Texas at the end of the week.  For those of you who haven’t heard, we plan to go to Texas and stay with my dad and brothers until about the first week of January.  Jonathan is bringing his tools and advertising his furniture on Craigslist and I plan to babysit or house-sit (or really whatever I can find to make some money) while we’re down there.  We are really looking forward to embracing this time with the family we are able to be with.  Please be praying for continued peace and healing from the God of all comfort.  He has been so good to us.

  1. This is such a great idea! My daughter is just now 20 weeks. I’m going to tell her she needs to do something like this!! I went to school with your dad from 3rd grade until we graduated. I never knew your mom and am so very sorry for your loss, especially at this time of your life. It sounds as though you have wonderful supports where you live. I’ll be praying for you as you progress through your pregnancy.

  2. I love you and feel so much pride for the wonderful person you are. Thanks so much for sharing your baby journey, espeacialy during this difficult time.
I remember craving cokes (I normally don’t even like sodas) when I was pregnant with G&D, I would give in and feel guilty because it felt so unhealthy…but it was just a phase, as was chocolate chip pancakes and drinking straight viniger…I guess non of it hurt because they came out nice and healthy.
I’m sorry about Wednesday, but not surprised, grieving is hard but a natural and really necessary part of missing those we love….always supporting you with prayers from afar.
I’m so glad (and also not surprised) to hear that your wonderful church family greeted you with such love and support.
I can’t wait to see you again soon.
