Baby Striclyn · pregnancy week to week

17 weeks

Oops!  This is about a week late, so y’all will get two posts in one week.

17 weeks, 2 days!
                                       17 weeks, 2 days!

How far along are you?  17 weeks (October 14- October 20)

What’s new with baby this week?  Baby is the size of an onion, and he or she already has little finger prints and toe prints!

How much are you showing this week?  Just a bit more than last week 😉

How are you feeling?  I don’t remember anything bad, so it must have been a good feeling week!

Any new pregnancy symptoms?  No, the heart burn just keeps coming!  But little baby has been kicking me more frequently which is the best!

Sleep?  Sleep is good

Miss anything?  Not really . . . I think I’m getting pretty good at this being pregnant thing.  I’m used to life without much caffeine, alcohol, or belly-down sleeping 🙂

Movement?  Yep; I think I’ve felt him or her every day this week!

Food cravings?  None

Anything making you queasy or sick?  No, nothing memorable anyway

Pregnancy brain?  Not really, I think I’m keeping it together a little better with this pregnancy.

Belly button in or out?  In

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Do you think you’re having a boy or a girl?  This week I started thinking maybe it was a girl because last week, we found out that our friends, the Parkers, are having a little boy and Lori was talking about how different she felt from when she was pregnant with their little girl.  I feel so similar to when I was pregnant with Tylee that surely it’s a girl, right??!

Worst moment this week?  Still just anticipating the one year anniversary of my mom’s death.  I think this was the week that my dad accidentally called me at 6:15 am as he was trying to press snooze on his phone alarm.  Any time my phone rings and I’m not expecting it, I fear the worst–but especially when I get a call at a strange hour.  So I woke up in a bit of a panic and when my dad didn’t respond on the other end of the line, I frantically called him back–probably sending him into a bit of a panic.  When we figured it all out, I was relieved and eventually resumed a normal breathing pattern.  To say the least, I’m still working on the whole “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord,” (Psalm 112:7) thing.

Best moment this week?  Over the weekend, Jonathan and I took Tylee to the Lion Grass Field!  This is our favorite walking trail because it has tall, yellow grass like you might see in Africa where the lions hide (The Ghost and the Darkness, anyone? Scary!!).  It was a good adventure and the weather was awesome!

Happy or moody most of the time?  Ask Jonathan, haha I don’t remember.

Looking forward to anything?  We are one week closer to finding out baby’s gender!

Updates from Daddy or big sister Tylee?  Unfortunately, we found out that Tylee is not a fan of avocados (mommy’s favorite food . . .) but on the bright side, she’s still the cutest, happiest baby we’ve ever seen!
